What makes a Palm Springs job different
Palm Springs is the oldest resort city in the valley and it is known for its mid century modern homes. That changes the work in two ways. First, the concrete is often old: slabs that have been sealed, painted, carpeted or glued over across decades, and every one of those layers has to come off before a new coating will hold. Second, the finish choices matter more than usual, because these houses were designed around a palette and a clumsy floor fights the architecture. Pool Deck and Decorative Concrete
Decks and patios here bake in full sun and sit under hard UV, which is what chalks out a coating that was never rated for it. The existing concrete is ground back, repaired and coated in layers, then sealed, with the texture built in so it grips when it is wet. Cabinet Painting
Original mid century cabinetry is worth refinishing rather than replacing. Doors and drawer fronts come off and get labeled, faces are degreased, sanded and sealed so nothing bleeds through, and the finish is sprayed by hand rather than ordered as a new box. Refinishing original cabinetry keeps the joinery the house was built with.
Interior Painting
Color work where the color actually matters. The light bounces hard around the valley floor here, so the same wall reads warm at nine in the morning and cool by five, and samples go on the wall itself before anything is committed to. Do you really come all the way up to Palm Springs?
Yes, all year. It is the longest run we make from La Quinta, straight up Highway 111, and there is no travel charge to come and look at the floor and give you a free estimate.
My Palm Springs garage slab has old paint and glue on it. Is that a problem?
No, it is normal on an older house and it comes off as part of the preparation. Diamond tooling takes the sealer, paint and glue back to clean concrete, which is the only surface a new coating will actually hold onto.
